You need to find time to research the company to determine how you are going to attract your reader's interest writing a letter convincing a prospective employer that your background matches the company needs. Cover letters acts as a sales letter, targeting your credentials to a prospective market so you need to accomplish several goals in your letter.

- Give insights to readers about your personality showing how you will fit into the organization.

- Use key terms from job description or ad that are clearly significant to your background.

- Good letter structuring to give emphasis to these goals:

- Clarify your purpose in writing to build the reader's interest in the opening paragraph of the letter.

- Persuade the readers that you have the skills and abilities useful to the company. This is expressed in the body of the letter.
